Since the start of the summer travel season, Beijing Capital International Airport has seen an average daily passenger throughput of nearly 190,000, a 13% increase year on year. International and regional passenger traffic has reached 44,000 daily, marking a 63% year-on-year increase and the highest level in four years, according to the airport authority.
Domestically, the airport now connects to 132 destinations across the country, including 36 airports with annual passenger volumes exceeding 10 million.
Internationally, the route network of the airport spans 84 destinations in 52 countries. It offers over 20 weekly round-trip flights to major European cities like Frankfurt, Paris, London, and Munich, and more than 50 weekly round-trip flights to Asian cities such as Seoul, Tokyo, Singapore, and Bangkok.
Recently, the airport has launched new international routes to Dhaka in Bangladesh, Tijuana and Mexico City in Mexico, and increased flight frequencies to popular destinations such as Moscow, Athens, Budapest, Barcelona, and Stockholm, providing travelers with more options.
The airport authority is expecting the passenger traffic at PEK to continue growing throughout the summer.
