The first phase of "China Mobile with You--Olympic Families Tour Beijing" event expired on May 31 and the 100 candidate families were short-listed.
Since the campaign kicked off on April 9, 2007, a total of 12,679 families from 62 countries and regions have registered with the official website of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games to take part. Among them, 316 families are not from China.
In the first phase, up to four million votes were cast online. The 50 candidate Chinese families are led by "Twins2008", and the 50 foreign ones by "yunfengwu", "We like this game" and "Sport as heritage."
In the second phase, the Chinese candidate families will use Sohu's blog platform to share their stories, while the foreign candidate families will continue to send theirs to the official website and receive online votes.
No matter which families enter the final top ten, the 100 candidates, as well as some lucky voters, will be awarded souvenirs.
