溫家寶總理答記者問

The National People's Congress (NPC) concluded its annual session Monday morning in Beijing. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao gave a press conference after the closing meeting at the Great Hall of the People.

第十一屆全國人民代表大會第四次會議在圓滿完成各項議程后，于3月14日在北京閉幕。會后，國務院總理溫家寶在人民大會堂與中外記者見面并回答記者提問。

溫家寶在回答"十二五"規劃經濟增長預期緣何下降0.5個百分點時強調，"十二五"期間，真正實現有質量和效益的7%的增長速度，并非是一件容易的事情。

溫總理說，"主動調低經濟發展的速度，不僅表明決心和意志，而且是一個重大的舉措。就是說，在今后五年以至中國經濟發展的相當長時期，我們要把轉變經濟增長方式作為主線, 充分利用這樣一個機會，調整經濟結構，使經濟的發展與人口、環境和資源相適應。"

The National People's Congress (NPC) concluded its annual session in Beijing on March 14. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao gave a press conference after the closing meeting at the Great Hall of the People.

Premier Wen emphasized that it would not be easy to achieve a high-quality and efficient annual growth rate of 7% during the 2011-2015 period, even though it is a lower benchmark than the 7.5% growth target for the previous five years.

The lowering of the target not only demonstrates the government's determination, but also serves as a major move to transform the country's economic growth pattern," Wen said. "We should make full use of this opportunity to adjust the economic growth pattern and foster economic development suitable for the population, environment and natural resources."
