The United States and Russia remained the world's largest exporters of weaponry from 2012 to 2016, jointly accounting for 56 percent of arms sold on the international market, reported Russian media Sputnik, quoting data from Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).
China kept its third place ranking, with its shares accounting for 6.2 percent on the international market.
SIPRI's study showed that the supply of major conventional arms on the international market grew 8.4 percent in recent years, reaching its highest point since 1990.
