Just as it was at the London Games, the first gold handed out at the Paralympics will be in shooting. There, three Chinese will look to repeat Yi Siling's gold medal winning performance from the opening event of the 30th Olympiad, when they dial in their sights in the 10m air rifle standing SH1 event.
The Paralympic shooting events will take place on the same shooting ground of the London Olympics--the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich. The three Chinese competitors have spent four days familiarizing themselves with the venue. Four years ago in Beijing, all Chinese athletes were eliminated in the preliminaries. The trio expects to reverse the luck this time. In all, 9 Chinese Paralympians will compete in 11 shooting events.
