China on Wednesday refuted a report claiming that China was partly responsible for hacking into Japanese base organizations, calling the allegations "unprofessional and irresponsible."

"The Chinese government's stance on this issue is very clear. China always firmly opposes and forbids any activities that disrupt the Internet," said Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Jiang Yu at a regular daily news briefing.

A report said Japan's House of Representatives, Foreign Ministry and some of its institutions stationed abroad had been hacked, and part of the hacking came from China.

"I would like to point out that, as Internet crime involves multinational and anonymous characteristics, it is unprofessional and irresponsible to accuse a particular country of being the origin of the hacking without investigation," said Jiang.

China has also been a victim of Internet hacking and will continue to work with international communities to jointly handle Internet crime, she said.

"In regards to previous criticisms of China, China has not received appeals from relevant countries to assist in investigations," Jiang said.
