Conservation of Marine Eco-Environment

The oceans breed life and connect the whole world. They are essential to human survival and development. The marine eco-environment provides the basic living space for marine life, and any change of the marine eco-environment may lead to changes of the entire ecosystem and biological resources.

China has a vast area of sea territory, which serves as its blue granary and a strategic space for high-quality development.

Xi Jinping has more than once talked about the goal of turning China into a strong maritime nation, and called for cherishing, understanding and managing the ocean, and including marine eco-environmental conservation in the overall plan for ocean development. He suggested paying equal attention to development and conservation and to pollution prevention and control and eco-environmental restoration, developing and utilizing marine resources in a rational, science-based way, protecting marine biodiversity, and continuing to address ocean pollution, so as to maintain the ocean's reproductive capacity, provide green, safe sea products for the people, and leave them turquoise seas, blue skies and clean beaches.

海洋生態環境與保護

海洋孕育生命、聯通世界、促進發展，對于人類社會生存和發展具有重要意義。海洋生態環境是海洋生物生存和發展的基本條件，生態環境的任何改變都有可能導致生態系統和生物資源的變化。

中國是海洋大國，海洋是中國人民賴以生存的“第二疆土”和“藍色糧倉”，是中國高質量發展的戰略要地。中共十八大以來，習近平多次在講話中談及海洋強國建設，要求關心海洋、認識海洋、經略海洋，把海洋生態文明建設納入海洋開發總布局之中，堅持開發和保護并重、污染防治和生態修復并舉，科學合理開發利用海洋資源，保護海洋生物多樣性，持續加強海洋環境污染防治，維護海洋自然再生產能力，讓人民群眾吃上綠色、安全、放心的海產品，享受到碧海藍天、潔凈沙灘。
